    Ranveer, Alia beat Deepika Padukone, Virat Kohli, SRK as most valued celebrity brands

    Bollywood heartthrob Ranveer Singh beat the likes of 'Badshah' Shah Rukh Khan, veteran icon Amitabh Bachchan, former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, Sachin Tendulkar among others to win the 'Most Valuable' title. celebrity brand' according to a recent report.

    A corporate risk investigation and consulting firm, Kroll's latest report, "Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2022: Beyond the Mainstream," assessed the brand value of several celebrities based on their endorsements and social media presence. As the name suggests, it included names outside the mainstream of the world of sports and entertainment in India and adjudged Ranveer Singh as the undisputed winner.

    Ranveer Singh has seen a jump in his brand endorsement portfolio and his current brand value is estimated at $181.7 million, which is roughly $23.4 million more than it was in 2021. According to the report, the 25 celebrities ranked for 2022 have a combined brand value of $1.6 billion, up 29.1% from 2021.

    Former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli came a close second with an estimated brand value of $176.9 million, followed by Bollywood star Akshay Kumar who maintained his position at number three with $153.6 million. New mother Alia Bhatt, with her long list of celebrity endorsements, also maintained her place at number four with a brand value now at $102.9 million, while Deepika Padukone returned to the top 5 with a current brand value estimated at $82.9 million.

    Former cricketer MS Dhoni followed Padukone in sixth place with an estimated brand value of $80.3 million. At number seven on the list is Bollywood's Shahenshah with an estimated brand value of $79 million. Sachin Tendulkar entered the top ten at number eight with a brand value of $73.6 million, while Hrithik Roshan followed closely at number nine with $71.6 million. Surprisingly, one of the richest actors in the world, with a reported net worth of over Rs 4,000 crore, Shah Rukh Khan has come in at the tenth position in terms of brand value and is currently worth $55.7 million.

    This year, for the first time, South Indian actors Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna also made it to the top 25 list of celebrities with the highest brand value, joined by Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra and PV Sindhu, both worth $26.5 million. It's also worth noting that the total brand value of the top 25 celebrities in 2022 is estimated at $1.6 billion, an increase of about 29.1 per cent from 2021.

    Aviral Jain, Managing Director, Valuation Advisory Services, Kroll said in a statement, “The theme of this year's study is 'Beyond the Mainstream', which recognizes the rise of sports and South Indian stars as strong brand endorsers. 2022 has been the second successful year for South Indian films at the box office, leading to many Tollywood faces being sought after in the advertising and media industry at the national level.”

    He also expressed how the outstanding performances of Indian sports stars at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games helped them get several marquee endorsements, especially since there is no competition from Bollywood due to low box office collections.
